About Open Source Portland

We're a volunteer-led community that brings together people who care about open source software, open data, and the open web. Since 2010, we've hosted meetups, hack nights, and workshops that help Portlanders learn, build, and share.

Our mission

Open Source Portland exists to grow and sustain a diverse, inclusive community of open source practitioners in the Portland metro area. We believe that open source is not just a way to write software, but a way to build public goods, share knowledge, and create opportunities for people from all backgrounds.

Whether you're a student writing your first pull request, a designer looking to contribute to open projects, or a maintainer with a decade of experience, you'll find peers here who want to help you succeed.

Inclusive by design

We welcome people of all skill levels, identities, and backgrounds.
